A puppy has just joined the family?

He’s still young and can’t go on long walks with you?

Here’s my TOP 3 walks to take with a puppy!

Sea view and sunset

3km - Quiberville

In Quiberville, there’s the must-do walk on the sand at low tide! But for a change and a more leisurely pace, head up to the top of Quiberville!”

Before anything else check the sunset time. Park in the town hall parking lot at the top and head to the GCU Campground! At the Campsite turn left onto the path. At the end of this path turn right onto the road and follow the blue circles (loop 11 markings). You’ll have a beautiful view of the sea and sunset.

This is a field course with great visibility all around, great for letting your dog loose and training him to rappel!

#2

Wood, river and heritage

4.5km - Val-de-Saâne

At the beginning of Val-de-Saâne, to the left of the church, take the chemin des écoliers. Then turn left on rue du Faubourg and follow the “yellow circles” (markings of the loop 21). Before the point of view on the castle of La Couture, a small break for the doggies is possible (access to the river). Only a few more meters to see the water gardens of the Perle de la Saâne. You then return to Val-de-Saâne.

The tour of the pond

1,5km Saint-Germain-d'Etables

Park at the communal pond. You can quietly walk around the pond but also cross a small bridge on the side of the town hall and have a picnic under the trees!

Loop 10 (17km) passes around the pond.

You can even come and fish on site! (fishing card required)

Advice for your next walks:

  • Start with short walks
  • Always bring water with you and a small water bowl
  • Have a tick clip with you and check it at the end of the walk
  • A towel for the car ride home if there was a dip or a trip through the mud;)
  • Dog poop bags
