The sandstone generally came from the Pointe d’Ailly in Sainte-Marguerite-sur-Mer or from the quarries of Varneville, the silex from the beaches of the Alabaster Coast and from the paving of the fields, and the brick from the numerous brick factories that were built, such as in Greuville, Longueville-sur-scie or even Bacqueville-en-Caux… Moreover, we find in these communes hamlets and streets still bearing the name of “brickworks”.
